Being a refugee is not easy: run away with nothing but your clothes on, being split from your family, leave your country behind in search for some food and water… Thirty million refugees in the world are experiencing this. Palabek is the last refugee settlement opened in Uganda and welcomes people from South Sudan fleeing from the war. It started operating in 2017, being able to host up to 150,000 people. Currently, Palabek welcomes 40.000 refugees, most of them young women and children.
