Gonçalo Loureiro graduated in Cinema and Audiovisual and holds a Master’s Degree in Sound and Image. “Marasmo”, his Master’s final project, received over a dozen national awards and premiered in theatres following the Honorable Mention at the 2015 European Film Schools Competition. After its premiere at the Curtas de Vila do Conde International Film Festival, it was also recognized by the Portuguese Film Academy at the Sophia Student Awards. His second film, “Sheila” (2018), premiered at Curtas de Vila do Conde IFF and was selected for several festivals, such as the Alcine – Festival de Cine de Alcalá de Henares and OFF – Odense IFF. More recently, “Misericórdia” (2022) was a commission by musician José Pedro Pinto and was awarded at festivals such as Fantasporto and MOTELX.
