Mathieu Ciulla is a self taught filmmaker from Monaco. In an era where any information can be manufactured and distorted, his approach to cinema is driven by the desire to dissolve the porous borders between reality and (science)-fiction, to better depict the world as it is : fundamentally
enigmatic. In his first 2 films “The Dowsers” and “Office Uniform” he confronts the beliefs of western figures to the abysses of a
natural world that is unfathomable and ethereal. His upcoming film “Mud Baby” explores, once again, this relationship, through the gaze of a young tornado huntress from Oklahoma and her perception of the chaotic nature of reality through severe climatological events.
