Elia Urquiza, director and writer from Pamplona and adopted Angelena moves often in the line between documentary and fiction. Her first non-fiction feature, Next, portrayed the world of child actors in the outskirts of Los Angeles and premiered in the prestigious Visions du Reel and went on to win the Special Jury Prize at the International Malaga Film Festival. BFFS is her first fiction film, a short film that has been financed with a production grant from the prestigious Women in Film organization in Los Angeles. Elia is a founder of the production collective La Panda, which groups nine filmmakers working between Spain and the United States.
