Born in Madrid and a graduate in Image Sciences from the Complutense University, Gabe Ibáñez began his career professional working as a geometer and post-production supervisor. Since the year 2000 he has developed his career in different countries as an advertising director, his works being awarded at numerous international festivals. In 2001 he founded the design and post-production company User T38, with which he has since then visually developed his film projects.
In 2007 he won the Special Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival with his short film MÁQUINA. In the year 2009 he premiered HIERRO in the Critics’ Week, at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2014 he directed and wrote AUTOMATA, a film starring Antonio Banderas.
