Gabriela Calvache is known for her feature film “La Mala Noche” (2019), which premiered at SXSW and won 14 international awards. As a director, she specializes in telling stories about minorities in Latin America and exploring environmental issues, combining genre cinema with a focus on social impact. She also co-directed “Adentro,” which was part of the Official Competition at the São Paulo Short Film Festival. Her short film “En Espera” (2011) competed at Oberhausen and was selected for prestigious festivals such as Berlinale and IFFR, winning nine international awards.
