Sergio Avellaneda Belmonte (1999) graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and specialized in directing at La Casa del Cine in Barcelona and screenwriting at Showrunners Barcelona.
His first short film, ‘Mira niño’ (2022), distributed by Agencia Freak and produced by The New Flesh, has been selected for over thirty national and international festivals – including the Sitges International Film Festival, Premiers Plans (France), and the Guadalajara Film Festival (Mexico) – and has received two awards for Best Screenplay, three for Best Performance, and one for Best Direction. This recognition led him to a nomination for the 2024 Goya Awards.
‘Francisco’ (2024) is his second short film, produced by DEBUT and distributed by Agencia Freak.
